INNO.HUB
Sprendlingen – A Place That Stands for Construction Innovation
Impulse and Innovation
Our inventions, the BONO.BLOCK and RE.CK building blocks and systems, lay the foundation for a real laboratory and a production site for sustainable construction.
With our property spanning over 9,000 m² in Sprendlingen, Rhineland-Palatinate, we have found the perfect place to develop our ideas further, bring them to production maturity, and realize model projects for residential and commercial purposes.
We aim to bring people together and create an OpenInnovation location that combines a think tank and application space, as:
- A hub for ideas and a network for innovative building materials, construction methods, and procedures
- A testing ground for affordable, resource-efficient, and circular solutions in construction
- A prototyping site for simple, sustainable, and modular construction methods in line with the “Building Type E” concept
- A source of inspiration for stakeholders in the construction industry and politics
Special gastronomy and event spaces will serve as additional incubators for the transformation of the area.
Here’s a glimpse into the future of our INNO.HUB – an innovation hub where the restored historical landmark, the old water tower, will be revived in new splendor.

A Place with History
A brickworks establishes the tradition of building.
In 1894, brickworks owner Johann Schnell XI. built a ring kiln on Badenheimer Straße near the train station, continuing the family tradition that had been maintained for several generations. Extensive factory halls, a business house, and a water tower completed the facility. The quality of the light-colored bricks was so high that they were sold beyond the region.
In 1970, the brickworks ceased operations. The buildings fell into decay, and today, only the 1890-built water tower and the ruins of the old ring oven remain.
After the brickworks closed in 1970, a new chapter began for the site. For decades, it served as a car recycling yard—a place full of activity, engine sounds, and traces of past journeys.
This era ended in 2024. Now, the site lies like a hidden gem, waiting to be awakened from its slumber.
What was once a place of industrial progress is now set to become a future hub, uniting innovation, community, and sustainability.
Production
Another core element to be established on the site is the development and production facility for BONO.BLOCK and other construction innovations. An existing hall will be renovated and complemented by a new building with an office and social wing.
